OBJECTIVE:
Large customer with an aging PBX (Phone System) wants to replace the PBX and implement VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol). However, they could not afford the downtime of a "rip and replace" and would prefer to spread out the expense of the project over 12-18 months.
Primary Issues to Resolve
Need to design a way to have two systems working at once and still provide good customer service to internal users and outside customers alike.
SOLUTION -
Vision CTS replaced the customers existing digital telephone service, which was expensive and not flexible. We then installed our SIP trunk service that saved the customer money. More importantly, CTS intricately assisting with the transition with some creative call routing and programming inherent in the flexibility of the service and the ability of CTS experts.
CTS installed a SBC (Sesson Border Controller) that connected our SIP service to the new VoIP server and the customers existing PBX.
Users on the existing system need to be able to call users on the new system.
SOLUTION - Vision CTS programmed the customers existing PBX and voicemail so that it connected to the new VoIP server. This allowed users on the different systems to talk to one another by simply dialing a 4 digit extension, just as they could in the past. There was absolutely zero change to the customer, other than they were getting new phones on their desk.
Both systems need to use the same phone services to receive and make calls.
SOLUTION - Vision CTS programmed the existing PBX and the new VoIP Server to use the CTS SIP trunks so that they can receive and make calls. To all people inside and outside of the organization, there was no noticeable change.
Results
Vision CTS trained the customers IT staff on the process of adding new VoIP phones and programming the call routing between the old PBX and the new VoIP Server. This allowed the customer flexibilty to migrate services as they see fit. Once the migration was completed, CTS came back to the site and dismantled the old PBX and all supporting components. This saved the customer floor space, electricity and cooling as the PBX used a lot of resources.
